CLOUDLAND

'seasons - ep' out now

Restart

We get a little pumped up
We get a little starstruck
But whats it for?
We got these daydreams
We got these big schemes
These passions in our core

Oh, we see the spotlight
And act like it's alright
To bust through the window
When He's closed the door
We say, I am my own man
With all these nice plans
Take the first thing we see when
He's promised us more

Oh, you're bigger than
All we've ever wanted
Please take the pride
That I've ever flaunted
Free me from fear
Of empty ambition
Here's all my plans
Please take my heart
Oh, this is how we restart

If we're gonna be honest
This part's the hardest
Waiting in between
What we look at
Askin' could we get that
Everything that's on the screen
Please show us the reason
We're here in this season
That we're worth more than
What we're running towards

Oh, you're bigger than
All we've ever wanted
Please take the pride
That I've ever flaunted
Free me from fear
Of empty ambition
Here's all my plans
Please take my heart
Oh, this is how we restart

I wanna sing with all I have
What I've gained I'll give it back
Let these voices be a light
To shine out through the darkest night

Welcome home

I miss my house but not my home
Because my home is by my side
We've traveled down the road unknown
Taking steps behind the light
With loss came pain and in time it changed
To move out of the way for peace
And if they say that family's with
The company you keep

Welcome home
Im glad to meet you
Your skin and bones
May come from different places
But your heart and soul
It shares my home

We settled down just to be picked up
And taught how to walk without sight
I remember thinking on that plane
In the dead of the night
How even the smallest stars
Show us all who you are
And the way they shine their light

We're taking you home
With lamplit steps
We'll reach you
Your handmade soul
Was longing for a family long before
We'd known so lets take you home

With loss makes way for love
Which brings with it life
Which brings with it life
My plans often slip out my hands
And into the hands of the one who gave us life
Who gave us life

anniversary

I'm in the middle of it all
Stepped over the line
And now I'm bound to fall
I don't know who I am anymore
And strange enough I feel fine
I guess it kinda scares me
I just wanna be able to see
What's been given as a gift
And what's a curse
And what I need to wait for

I don't mind if you call
But don't come back to me
I'm not the one who you thought
I'm not the one who you need
We made up
And we're fine
But there's no more room for love

I'm more than sure we were given a sign
Every time we had looked to the future.
We were dragged back behind
I'm not singing this to rob you of your pride
I'm just speaking my mind
And even if we were to meet up again
I honestly wouldn't have the heart to call you my best friend
And that's okay
Because I think we've made the correct assumption
So I'll say

What we had way back when
Was as free as we'd been
But we stopped holding out
And then suddenly caved in
I'm not against you
But I can't say I miss you anymore

What we had way back when
Was as free as we'd been
But we stopped holding out
And then suddenly caved in
I'm not against you
But I can't say I miss you anymore

I don't mind if you call
But don't come back to me
I'm not the one who you thought
I'm not the one who you need
We made up
And we're fine
But there's no more room for love

pine trees

I'm staring out the window as we
Drive through miles and miles of mountain pines
And I can't see the overlook cause I'm
Focused on the traffic I'm stuck behind
And all the while I'm wondering why
The world's the way it is and where you are
That question would be answered if I'd just stop
And get out of the car

And I fail to see the stars
And then I ask you who you are
And I wonder why I haven't gotten an answer
We want all these miracles
And yet we hold onto the literal
I plead for just one reply
Without ever glancing at the sky

You've been giving us all heartbeats simply as a reminder
Trying to tell us just find relief in all that's around us
But we just keep looking past the blue skies
Trying to find the sun
This whole world is all worn down from chasing idols
We have a tendency to lose ourselves in all that surrounds us
But won't you break through all the distractions
And point us right back to all of the pine trees
